It looks very nice, congrats! This is probably my favorite maker for the pre-war examples.....all of the makers are nice, but there is something that draws me to the Mauser Berlin-Borsigwaldes. The metal finish and bluing on most of those were as good as it got.

I can clearly see the "H" band has been replaced as the bluing is stronger than the surrounding parts.....I believe however that the bayonet lug too has either been replaced or blued at a later time.....On a mauser this early, they were left in the white....Bodes

        Hello Bodes.

The H band is indeed not serial numberd to this weapon the H band has serial number 7262 WaA63, this H band has a stronger shining blueing indeed, but never re-blues. The bayonet lug has also his original bleuing, but it looks also darker by the light.
The actual color may vary from the light of my camera.

Bayonet lugs wouldn't been blued on an early mauser.....Just like the recoil lug, they were left in the white (bare)......Bodes

Regardless of finish (white or blued) based on the pics the bayonet lug itself does not appear to be the correct H band type for this vintage rifle if all factory correct. Perhaps this condition is the result of subsequent combat damage and later wartime period repair. Perhaps bubba. I would be curious to know if the subject rifle has been duffle cut?

After looking closer, I would agree that is not type bayonet lug generally found under an "H" band.....Bodes
