Interesting rifle....It appears the serial number is 827 but quite a few of the parts are numbered 87......Has to be a factory error.....As for stock not matching, it's an earlier made one that wouldn't be found on an all original '44 dated mauser.....It should have a cupped buttplate.....Good news is, 'dot44' K98k's are a very common maker, so a proper stock should be able obtainable.....It will likely be numbered internally but that wouldn't be seen w/o taking apart.....Bodes

I also think a factory mistake, the gun has the serial number 827, but some parts are stamped with 87

The stock has the serial number 2508.
