    Are these Norwegian MP40 mags?

Picked up some MP40 mags recently, two were odd, looked parkerized, no markings, slightly different construction, an original German MP40 mag in the middle of my pics for comparison to the 2 what I believe to be Norwegian mags.... Chris.. Are they Norwegian?

I had no idea Norway produced MP40 mags. I bought a large lot (100 aprox) of original MP mags some years ago from Norway. Won't these be belgian copies for the Vigneron MP? Are they stamped or marked any way? Do they have the little hole at the back?

      MP40 Norwegian mags

I'm not for sure Carles, that was information I had gotten off the internet about Norwegian mags, but you always have to take that stuff w/ a grain of salt of course.... Here's some more pics....it could be Belgian?

The vigneron are stamped and the floor plate is different. I don't know, for sure member Bergflak will know if they are Norwegian.

C! It was more than 100 I believe

Pictured magazines have nothing to do with Norway. We only used original German WW2 magazines for our MP38 u. 40. Quality conscious we are.....

I bought a couple of very high quality and totally unmarked MP-40 mags once that I was told by the seller that they were Norwegian manufacture.
They actually worked better than the original German made ones that I had.

He was certainly telling a lie (or pulling Your leg). Norway never made any, since we had PLENTY of original German WW2 Magazines.

He may have been fibbing but these were like brand new in the '80s.
Extremely well made, richly blued, and had no markings whatsoever.

Well, Gurtsack knows his French stuff (and his MG stuff as well!), so the above magazines are definetively French made.

Since Norway never made any MP40 mags (I have handled well over a 1000 of the Norwegian army postwar used MP40 magazines, and they were all WW2 originals), I guess the MP40 mags you are refering to DennyB must be of the same type as the above. So they were also most probably French.

                            Gurt: any more specifics..

Hi - i have a few of the french mags as well (both painted yellow on the lower half for some reason).

Do you have any specifics about why, when and by whom the mags were produced?

                              Chris,

I bought a lot of MP40 mags a few years back and there were two of these in there.
The two unmarked (French I guess) I have fit in the MP40 - but do not cycle very well at all.

I use them for display in a mag pouch, now - The cycle issue could be blank related, as that is all we shoot, but, the original German mags run flawlessly.
Do your new ones work OK?
