Congratulations for a great Luger! Don't worry: finish is original and correct.
It's a nice Luger in collectable grade, a keeper for sure. I would not shoot it, because if you break any numbered part then it will be forever relegated to the shooter status, but I know this is strictly an owner decision.

Thank you Douglas. I would never shoot it. My buddy would kill me if I did. I made the mistake of shooting my 1911 and the pinned front sight came out. Made me sick...
