MG34T Panzer mantel

If it has been refurbished it should be more or less the same colour all around. It is true that panzermantel shrouds tend to get a plum colour sometimes but this one is too black compared to the housing, moreover when the rest of the gun is really well blued (black) also. That panzermantel could be not original. Is it your's or are you considering buying it?

Just compare. It might have been heated to remove the standard shroud and replace for the panzermantel. That could make the price of a standard MG34 come up a bit. Panzer mantel shrouds were made of a harder steel that made it get that plumish colour when blued. It would not be the first time this happens.

I think Carles is correct, it not right with a difference like that in the finish I don't think.

Another thing, the seller of this one I wouldn't personally trust, I bought my first "original" lafette 42 from them, and that turned out badly...

Hi carles.
I can see what you mean about different colours between main receiver part of gun and barrel shroud. Puts me off from even considering this gun. I don't own this gun but was considering buying it.
It would be very helpful to lean how to tell if panzer mantel shroud(s) are good?
You say you have 2 complete mg34 panzer mantels. Can i see some photos?
If you ever be considering selling let me know.
