Beautiful Carbines guys! I have one as well, a 58,xxx # manufactured in 9-42, probably in about the same condition as Matt's, I have spent some time searching around on the net looking for others, and trying to get an idea of what these may be worth, my carbine has that "been there" look to it as well, but all original features are intact, and not too bad except for a cracked handguard. Any comments as to what rifles of this type are now worth these days? One things for sure they will only keep going up in value and collectibility...Chris. The rifle looks original as issued. No bayonet lug, flip sights, early high wood!!! Can't tell from the photo, but since it has the bomb in the sling cut-out, surely it is "I" cut for the oiler. You know that sling alone now would fetch between $50. and $100. !!
For those of you who might be interested, there is a very active Carbine Club. Their research is what was used in developing Craig Riesch's book on M1 Carbines. If anyone interested, I'll furnish address. Sadly, they have no forum like this. Just bi-monthly newsletters. The back-issues of their newsletters is the treasure trove of carbine info. Just magnificant.
Happy to see the interest in these historical milestones!! Henry Ford would be proud.

I just got back tonight from the Reno gunshow, A fellow had a carbine just like Matt's and mine and he had it priced at $1350.00 WOW!
I asked him if that really was the value of the carbine and he assured me that they do sell around that price? I told him of my boyt sling and he said its a $100.00 sling WOW!
Im in shock I had no idea these things brought the high dollar, there were at least 30 carbines at the show also Lugers, p38's ( Dual tone! ) , PPk&PP's etc etc. a really good time ( The beer was nice and cold! )
Anyway thanks for the nice comments on the little puppy that has just sat in the corner, Yes it is ALL inland parts inside!

First off, Two big thumbs up on your early Inland carbine!
Very nice looking carbine! That sling is awesome!
Second, Yes prices of M1 carbines has sky-rocketed! Especially ones with the early features; high wood, "I" cut stock, flip sight, checkered push button safety, flat bolt, no bayonet lug. two rivet handguard. (like yours and mine) The prices of these is almost astronomical now, and I don't see it ever going down!
The two carbines I got (this one, plus a "Quality Hardware";see other thread) both came out of an old collection of carbines! There were 28 of them, and right now I really wish I had about $20Gs to take them all! I can't think of a better investment right now? (machines perhaps?! or land!)
