Mauser 98k markings

A friend of me, have found this Mauser 98k,
But i think markings of this 98k are strange???

'ce' marked k98 from 1942. Made by JP Sauer.

As stated ..Not strange.. typical of this model k98 ..Strong & in nice condition. Remainder of small parts should have the small eagle over 37 stamp. Regards
