    Rodom P35!

Here is one gun that often gets overlooked as being a German sidearm, and also one of the finest pistols of WWII. This is the Polish Radom P35. After Germany invaded Poland, they took control of all Polish weapons, and weapon production. ( like all the other countries they occupied.) This Pistol was produced at the famous Radom plant in occupied Poland. Gun is nazi proof marked with "eagle and WaA77".

Radoms are grooped into 4 types. This one is a type 2 Radom. A type 1 would look simular to this one, but will have a high polished finish, and be slotted for a stock. Type 3s will look like this one, but will be missing the take down lever, which was deleted to simplify production. Type 4s will have a Parkerized finish, and will have grooved wooden grips rather than the checkered plastic types seen on this type 2. Markings on the type 4 will usually only have the WaA77, and will not have the makers name on it.

every pistol I collect, must have a proper holster for it! Here is the Radom holster. Early war Radoms will have a brown leather holster. Later ones will be black. This one is actually a brown leather holster that was dyed black! In 1942 Heer HQ ordered that all Heer leather was to be dyed black. Luftwaffe remained brown. This one was probably dyed black then. Still a nice minty holster. (I just wish they didn't dye it black!)

inside of the holster showing the makers mark. A common maker for this holster.

I guess no one likes the Radom?! This is really nice gun, and it is fairly easy to find one, and they are not to much $. I got this one last year at the Louiville show for $400. That is really good for such a nice condition gun.

              Radoms

              Hello,

I had one =< the same type as your pîece ( type II ) and i was still firing on a regulary basis with it, it is a realy nice weapon and iff the Belgium gun laws where not that strange i still would have owned it but then again

It is still one of my favorist and it comes very close towards FN made Capitain, similar design, etc ...

I like them for sure + thanks for showing this beauty

              Cordial Greetings,

Yes I love shooting this baby! I like it just as much as the FN Browning Hi-power (see other post) I have. They are really great guns. Very relieable, and accurate as well.
I am surprised that most people forget about this gun when talking about WWII pistols? The SS units loved these! Much better than the lugers!

Hi Matt, I really like the Radom P35(P) too. Here is a pic of mine, but as I live in the UK it is de-activated.
                  Cheers, Ade.

                        Adrian,

Nice looking Radom!! too bad it is deactivated . If you are ever over on this side of the pond, give me a jingle, and I'll let you shoot mine. They are a joy to shoot

One question though, why do you have rounds in the magazine then?

                        Matt

Hi Matt, glad you like the gun and I will certainly take you up on your kind offer if I make it over to the States!
Even the rounds are inert. (No powder and primers have had oil put on them to killl them.) They are 1941 dated ones. If you look very closely on the photo with the slide open you will see the slot that is milled in the barrel as part of the deact process.
The gun should have cost me £350, but I did a trade on two US Knuckleduster knives, which stood me £65, and for that I got a mint P38 and the P35(P). There are quite a few available at the moment here in the UK. I do not know where they have all come from, maybe Eastern Europe? All are in this condition.
                          Cheers, Ade.

Most of the new Radoms and P38s comming in from Eastern Europe are re-blued, and re-worked, and import marked of course. Some were sent through Canada, which will sometimes eliminate the import mark, however these are also re-blued, and sometime difficult to spot. Buyer beware!
