Questions about wood stock for early and late kar98k and prussian wood stock

    Hi,

I have got a problem, I would like to put the kar 98k "iron" in correct wood stock.
I have got two wood stocks - one for early war model, and the secon one for late war version.
First wood stock will be for Steyr bnz 43:

What do You think about this one, will it match for bnz 43 model?

Now, the early war mauser model:

    I think there is "1941"...

And the probably wood for it:

And what are Your opinions? Will it match for model that I showed to You?

    Post Scriptum:

Can You tell me from which period it is? I think it is prussian...

Like always Thank You for all replies and helping me!
    Regards,
    Buzzz

    K98k stock

    Hi,
For a 1941 rifle you need another cup heelplate stock - laminated beech or walnut used in that year.

My BNZ 43 K98 is in its original cupped buttplate stock like you have 1st pictured ..the lower last pic looks to be a antique 71/84 Mauser rifle WWI ..pre WWI rifle..

Not necessarily accurate. Flat or cupped stock as well as hardwood or laminate all depends on manufacturer and serial range.

The action shown based on condition looks ground dug. If so IMO leave it as is and don't waste a stock on it.
