1916 Luger oddity

Just looking at the posted pic of this Luger, it is apparent that it was "dressed up" by some shoemaker who is trying to make extra $$$ from folks who get all excited over "presentation" guns.

We think that the Luger was a big deal to the Germans, because we love those great guns. But if you look at the pictures of "important" or high ranking people from that era, they favored smaller handguns.

Bill is also spot on, the small parts have been re-strawed, badly, and the whole weapon refinished, again badly. Corners have been rounded over and it is totaly the wrong colour/patina.

By 'super-bad' i meant bad, not bad as in good...............i think.

The engraving looks too"new" and is nothing like period German engraving. Looks like laser etching.
