Mp40 pouch for review

I have my suspicions about this mp40 pouch, marked jwa 44, wear and age look good, brass studs on the front?? I would like to hear some thoughts from more experienced collectors.

Fake MP40 pouch

The brass studs show this to be a fake. By 1944, there was no brass to spare. The studs should be steel.

As well as the very unusual placement of the D-ring….even if it is was suppose to be an early war pouch, never mind attempting to be a '44 dated pouch.

Thanks guys, the brass was a red flag! The maker stamp also looked "non-traditional too".
