the guy i bought it from did not know what it was !!! Lucky me !!!
it is only a bit repainted in nice matching paint ,for the rest it is perfect .
the inside is amazing ,i never saw them stripped in books... i show you !
the interesting thing is that there are some kind of dumy bullets attached inside to each side of the arm/spring !!! i think it is for protecting the gun from jamming when the last rounds are fired... i did not know that . the dummy bullets are attached to each other with 8-shaped rings and the first bullet has the number "0" stamped on it to show the gunner that the drum is empty

                        Hello Jo,

I mean it has been restored externally. The transport strap doesn't look original and these mags weren't painted but blued, so it hasn't been REpainted but only painted to restore it. The rest looks good. The system is quite similar to the MG34 saddle drum, PT34. Is your's in working condition? There is a comparison in this thread:

                        http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...ighlight=mg+13

Curiously MG34 and MG13 mags weren't painted, only blued, but those DT15 for the MG15...some were painted and some were blued. I wonder if it has to do with ground or air service

                        Carles

                          Hey Pit,

That dummy is holding one of the flash hiders I had some time ago. It also found a good place, as you can see.

so it has been restored on the outside .
but still i am very happy with it .
this is the first decent one that i ever could buy at that low price
