hey guys. I was hoping someone out there can help me. I've been looking for a K98 stripper clip maker marked and dated (19)43 for a few years now. I only collect '43 dated pieces, but with no luck at all. i've seen plenty of dated/maker marked clips, just not in my year. do they exist? or am I wasting my time. if anyone does have one out there I would be willing to pay good cash for your trouble and help if you were willing to sell one to a fellow collector. I would deeply appreciate it. but either way, any information on this topic would be greatly appreciated. thanks, Glenn

Hi Glen,
sorry , can't help you to the 43 marked clips, but I do have 44 marked clips (with MP44 ammo) so I guess you should keep on looking.. If there are 44 marked clips, there could very well be 43 marked clips...

I've seen the clips with 3 letter code and date, and also with the P code (same as the 8x57 ammo) with date.

43 dates strippers are out there...
I also collect stripper clips (marked ones anyway) and can tell you 43 dated strippers do exist and are not the most difficult to locate- the 1945 dated ones are the most difficult (only 2 are known of- C-hre 45 & C-mpu 45).
The only year so far without an example is 1942... all other years 1934-1945 I have examples of or images of.
The 1943 known examples (so far) are dou.43; 43 eds; ghx/43; hre 43 & hhw43
I will trade 43 dated strippers for other dated/mfg strippers I need.

Very cool clips! Several I have never seen before... are you positive the nhw isn't a poorly struck "hhw"? Not really questioning the stripper but a closer look may eliminate the possibility.
Never seen nxc; flp or hrh before & the exq I have a couple from 1941 but never for 43, so very good for me that you posted!
I maintain a excel chart of "known" examples, I would like to see what others you may have that I don't have listed, email me & I will email the chart for you to view- perhaps you can help fill it out some? graff714@bellsouth.net
Regarding prices, I would say $1 or 2 is the regular price I usually pay, but I have gone $10 or more for a few (dou is a popular code naturally, as are many of the later dated... the earlier ones are much more common in my experience). Often I have gotten them in lots where the costs are less than $1 each, you get a lot of duplicates that way but it is the cheapest.
[QUOTE=Peter C]Here are some from my collection.
nxc-43 c-flp-43
dou 43 nhw43
hhw43 43eds
exq/43 hrh 43
hre43

Mike; Cool mpu-45 (that is only the second one I have seen to date)!
I do not know what the "C" represents but I do know the same makers made strippers with & without the use of the "C" on the there clips during the same year (example I have a "mpu-44" & a couple "mpu-c-44" clips; also "c-44 eds" & "eds 44" exist; as do "C-hre44" & "hre44") so far those are the only dual marked I have come across (though during 1941 one will find a few "P" codes while most I have seen from 41 have switched to the alpha codes- exq & hhw, etc... transitional issues I suppose)
[QUOTE=mrfarb]Here is a picture of the few clips that I have that are marked. I don't know if you mentioned the c-hre-44 clip along with the hre44- plus, here is a picture of the c-mpu-45. Any idea what the "c" designates?
