It might be the pics, but those grips look more shiny and "plastic like" than the ones on my 38Hs.

The grips are the modern copies made in the Czech Republic , and available on eBay. I have a couple of sets of them, to preserve the very fragile originals. Over the years I've had two original grips shatter into dust due to the unstable Bakelite composition. BTW the Czech repos are the very best substitute for the originals, very hard resin or plastic material construction and great molding to include the rear side mold markings.

I followed the auctions of the subject pistol. The second auction clearly did not include the holster in the listing. That being the case I am curious to know why you expected the holster in the deal?

This is what I meant about the reverse of the Czech copy, the mold work is excellent. And they are far stronger than the bakelite originals.

If the vet picked up the rig and put his name and serial number on the holster, I would expect for it to stay with gun throughout its life. That being said, I left it with the seller that if he plans on selling it to keep me posted as I would like to buy it.

Thanks herd. It looks like they are indeed the $40 copies then. Good ones to have as back-ups but they are indeed not period.

Lesson learned I guess - best to not expect and carefully read descriptions to determine what exactly is being sold.
