    32 Browning Model 22

    I just picked up this little gem and it's as minty as minty can be! In
    fact I doubt that it has been fired. Can anybody give me some more
    info? It has 5 waffenamt eagles on the side and 3 of them have Wa140
    underneath. There is an (H) at the beginning of the title, and an MR
    at the front of the trigger guard. On the magazine there is a logo in
    an oval that I can't figure out and a 7.65mm underneath. No holster.
    Value?

      What you have is a mid war FN Browning 1922. The German army model designation was the "P.641b"(for 9mm Kurz), and "P.626b" (for 7.65mm) for the Browing pistol.

      Your Browning is what is known as a variation 3, German wartime production. Serial number should be between 1a-30000c. Over 230,000 of this varition were produced, and German production of all models of the 1922 is estimated to be around 363,000!

      Yours has military blued finish, and checkered walnut grips, which are correct. "Eagle/WaA140" stamps are usually marked 1,2,or 3 times on the slide, frame, and sometimes on chamber and trigger guard.
      Others are marked on the trigger guard with "FN" or "MR".
      Slide should read; "FABRIQUE NATIONALE D'ARMES DE GUERRE HERSTAL BELGIQUE BROWNING'S PATENT DEPOSE".

      Sometimes on the variation 3, which yours is, there is a marking before the slide legand that is "(H)". I'm not sure what this is for, but I think that is what you are referring to?

      Magazine will be marked with the "FN" logo in a circle, and caliber, "7.65mm", sometimes these will be also marked "eagle/140".

      Your Browning appears to be in very good shape. I've never seen a 1922 with a bad bore, so I won't even ask about it. Assuming it is all matching and correct, I would place value around the $225 range.

      A very nice collectable Nazi occupation production pistol!

        Hello, this is a FN (browning) Model 1922 pistol in 7.56mm (.32 automatic) over 350,000 produced for the Germans after the fall of the FN Belgian plant in 1940.. Early ones had black plastic grips later ones had checkered walnut grips.. Pre war this pistol was sold by FN to the military and police of France, Belgium,Holland, Denmark,Sweden and Yugoslavia.. It was also produced in 9mm Kurz for the Germans around 3000 or so in this calibre..It was carried in a brown drop holster and many of the holsters have Luftwaffe/Kreighoff markings...

              Thank you Matt and Bill! It looks like you two clocked in at the same
              time, and I appreciate it very much. I actually paid a bit more for it
              than that, but If I hadn't scarfed it up when I did, it would've been
              gone. You know what those situations are like! Thanks again for
              the knowledge. I really have to get some more gun books.
