    Hello to all!

Friends, say please your opinions, how much may cost a such FG 42 in this condition?
It belongs to my friend now. He will sell this gun.

This rifle was found in the area of the Battle in Koenigsberg, what was happening in East Prussia in 1945.
Was well preserved stamp, but lacks many parts.

    Thank you

    Best regards

That is an amazing find! To see a 1st model FG42 there would indicate FJs were fighting there.

I would strongly suggest that you not try to "clean" or "restore" it: it is what it is, a dug-up relic of a rare firearm. Leave it as is and enjoy!

Perhaps not "clean" or "restore" but do something to preserve it, if not rust will start flaking off and in a couple of years you might have nothing left. When I studied archaeological restoration we used tannic acid to prevend further deterioration.
