Period belt with ammo?

Hi!
Here is my MG belt with period (deact) ammunition. The belt marked "dtb 12.40" and you can see the maker marks on the bottom of the shells. Only 36 pieces, long time were required to collect.

Kinda wild to see how the primer strikes were all over the place.

Thanks for your comment. In Hungary day-after-aday can be found relics in "Attila-line","Margit-line" (defense line from 1944) and from the operational area "konrad" or "Frühlingserwachen".

There are also French 7,5x54MAS and Belgian 7,65x54 cases in the belt that don't belong there.

I do see some German WWII issue steel and brass casings, but not all of the cases are German.

Looks like some of the strikes on the primers are not from a gun's firing pin, as some are way too far off center and/or irregular shapes. To me it looks like some of the strikes are a post-war attempt to make sure the primers are now inert by striking them with a pin punch or other object; you see these types of irregular strikes quite often on inert large ordnance cases.

The cases with the extra ring inthe casehead are French and the ones with the FN headstamp are Belgian. He is correct that they are period but not German. They could be used by germans.

Not in the german MG's but in beute waffen. French and Belgian MG's used by the germans.

I think these ground dug and deact ammunitions. Mixed found on the battlefield area.Good news, that these are period, but not all good to the MG belt.
