MP40 question

I think the purpleish/brown blue finish is the result of temperature issues during the bluing process. It is not that uncommon to find on original OR refinished firearms.
DECIMA has probably seen examples of reblued firearms exhibiting this finish which include M2HB Brownings,MG34's,MG42's, ZB's,PPSH's,P38's to name a few that were refurbished and placed in storage post WWII in many eastern bloc arsenals where discoloration of the blue is quite common to see and would normally be on parts with a different metallurgic composition, barrel trunions, sight blocks etc
The MP40 looks fine, I would be happy to suggest that the finish is original.
Hope this helps

It was my opinion about this MP, but it was not stored in eastern block.
