    Beretta M1919 with German markings

    Hello everyone,

    I picked up this really neat pistol in a Pawn shop a few years ago and I just thought I would share it. It is a Model 1919 Beretta in 25 caliber. What is neat about this pistol is that it has been stamped with german acceptance stamps. I can only imagine this gun was carried by a German soldier or officer as a back up weapon. The only problem with the gun is that it is missing the original magazine. I have been searching for one but unfortunately have not had any luck locating an original. Anyway I hope you all enjoy the photos.

    New manufacture magazines are available through Numrich:
    http://www.gunpartscorp.com/Products/152130.htm
    There is also an original 1919 mag on ebay right now. Beretta 418 magazines will also work in the 1919.
    The reichsadler eagle stamp is likely spurious.

      I don't have any confidence i these markings.
      If regular stamps it would be eagle/N or WaAxxx.

      These were stamped on the gun to increase it's value.

        Thanks for the heads up on the magazine on ebay. The gun came with an aftermarket mag, but I would like an original. As for the markings, I respect your opinions, but I think they are legitimate. According to what I have read they just seem like stamping to verify the gun is safe to fire. Then again, I am not an expert. Either way I appreciate your feedback on the gun.

          This gun is a so called "Model 1926", with serial between 155000 and 158000 and manufactured on 1926.
          The only thing I can think is that a Joker stamped these marks to increase the value of this gun.
          It was produced before the rise of the Nazism and the Germans never test proofed the old guns they seized, but only new production.

            I agree they are fake markings. They made a dent in a frame from applying the stamp.
