What does the 'K' within the starburst mean? It almost looks like a feldjaegerkorps marking.

They are MP28 and the sunburst K is a police issue marking.. BILL

I suspected but had no 28 to try them in so was guessing..as for the police issue marking, do you have more details on that?

...Gary, Here we go I had in my Mg collection a Mp28 and the accessories with it were exactly the same, pouch with three magazines marked the same way.. The sunburst "K" mark is is the Prussian State Police mark. They are pre and early Nazi period 1935 and before there are known Prussian Police holsters, and pistols marked the same way, one pistol that comes to mind is the Sauer Behorden in 7.65m/m this pistol has the sunbursk "K" marked on the trigger guard, you can find Luger holsters marked with the sunburst "K" as well.. This marking was deleted durring the third reich period and I beleive replaced by the eagle swastika C,L,K, as found on third reich police pistols IE: pp, ppk, Luger,cz27, Sauer model 38h,P38, Steyr mod 12.. Gary, I beleive the markings on the magazines are S. W. I 37 1 ...... FIRST MAGAZINE FOR WEAPON NUMBER 37 OF THE SCHULTZPOLIZEI WEISBADEN= MUNICIPAL POLICE DEPARTMENT WEISBADEN....
S.S. 9 1......FIRST MAGAZINE FOR WEAPON NUMBER 9 SCHULTZPOLIZEI SCHNEIDEMUHL= MUNICIPAL POLICE DEPARTMENT SCHNEIDEMUHL.. I Hope this helps some... BILL (GERMAN POLICE MARKINGS)
