It arrived today, very happy with it !!

I was thinking, its dirty and dusty, I was thinking of giving it a clean up with a soft paint brush and mineral motor engine oil, what do you think ??

You can use WD40, please show some better photos of this nice faust.
You can clean also interior of tube with metal brush.
I like oxalic acid, but not everybody does .

        Hi Duv

Sure, will get some better pictures when i get it home, try and do some over the weekend if we get some dry weather

To be honest, it does not need Oxalic, its not that bad, its not really rusty, just dirty and dusty

I was told not to use WD40 on helmets, it has petrol in it and can damage the oil based paint they used in those days ? I assume its the same type of oil based paint on these ?

        Cheers

indeed it contains petrol but petrol is drying, and only oil stay on surface.

it have much better penetration than engine oil , and for cleaning from dirt is better IMO

I have given this a clean the weekend with soapy water only and some WD-40
I have stripped the trigger mechanism down as it was full of mud and crud and was falling out
There is some corrosion and metal loss on the inside but nothing too serious, will take some pictures when its dry outside

                    Panzerfaust endcap

                    Hello,

yes, that´s correct - it is an end-cap for Panzerfaust.

But as they are often ground-dug and shrunken from being in the ground for a long time, they often don´t fit anymore.

So, for instance, I bought a Panzerfaust 60m cap to put on my Panzerfaust 30m klein (small), and the "Gretchen"-tube took it.......!

Is it fits to end of tube??? in my opinion this rubber ring is usually inside tube between explosive in paper tube and head

To be honest Duv, I tend to agree with you, may explain how a faust 60 one would fit over the end of a faust 30 ?

I did find the remnants of what looks like a toilet roll cardboard tube inside the faust over the weekend, I assume that it held the black powder charge ?

                              Cheers
