You should look for a second receiver.... maybe between two, you can make one good one.

I contacted him, I have not heard anything back yet.

I'm still looking, but not much luck.Do any of you members think a really nice arisaka type 99 would sell on this forum?.I'm considering selling it to help raise funds for mp44 semi build.I guess I need to be a member with more posts in order to sell here.It is all matching, mum intact mint bore has the original sling even, missing the cleaning rod and mono pod. Thank you for your input.

              MP44Rebuild

panzerfaust.. Sounds like you might have picked a tough one to restore. As much as has been torched off the receiver makes for a real problem. Have you considered stripping off the parts and getting a solid Aluminum Receiver ,and turn it into a wall hanger? The re-welds I have seen, in the past, just don't get the job done.

If you keep your eyes on gunbroker the pieces you are looking for will pop up. If you show us a pic of what it looks like someone may be able to help you find the pieces you need. What condition is your trunion?

Thanks,I have a dummy receiver made of aluminum,it has been a goal of mine to have it made into a legal semi auto only shooter piece. My trunion had been torched in two,my receiver is a real mess, but that is how they wanted it for demil by regulation.I look on the site you mention everyday,There is a kit on there now but if you look closely at the photos there,it appears mis aligned sheet metal on the best side after reweld.also no trunion and for what it is seems too expensive,as it is still missing the rear section of the receiver and the barrel has been cut.I will post up some pics of what my receiver looks like soon.In the meantime I will keep looking.

Panzer, I hate to say this and certainly don't mean to be rude but that receiver may be a little to far gone. Someone really killed it! If you want to reweld one, you might have to buy another kit with a good receiver to reweld and then resell any extra parts you may have. Frankly the only good piece you have there is the rear center section. that could be useful with another receiver. I wish you best of luck. There are other receivers out there if you keep watching. As you know its not a cheap gun to build so, the key is having cash in hand when you get a shot at the "right" kit. I spent a very very pretty penny on my kit. I have registered MGs that were cheaper than my MP44 parts kit!
