    Luger P08 1918

Hello please could you tell me some information about this P08?
Is it a commercial or militaria Luger?
Could this P08 1918 be used in WW2?

    Regards

Wow-those grips are SMOOTH!...I had a Luger with grips like that years ago that was a shooter grade piece. Interesting proof/stamp above the date, I would be curious to know what that is. Is it 9mm caliber? Most military Lugers were, was it used in ww2? I see no nazi proofs on it but anything is possible. Its a pretty worn out looking pistol, I would not imagine it being terribly valuable myself. These are my thoughts on it, lets see what some of the others have to say.

It is a WWI military 1918 dated DWM manufactured P.08 that looks like a Russian dip blue. Photos too bad to tell what the proof marks are for sure, but appear to be post WWII German.

P.08 was the model number given to the 4" Lugers used by the German army.
