He wasn't a happy camper over that fiasco.
Back in the late 70's a local Pawnshop operator lucked into a US&S. Be was bragging that he had a super rare 1911 made by Unites States Steel. He never lived that one down.
It's actually very affordable to buy a Liberator here - I know a local dealer who has a couple mint examples. Unfortunately the laws are very different here for short barrel pistols including pre-1946. To own a small pistol like a Liberator you must be grandfathered with a special "12.6" license. Lugers fall into the same category. I was born too late to recieve 12.6 so I don't collect pistols with barrels shorter than 4". The only exception to this rule would be if I applied for a firearms dealer license - a complicated process.

You would have to do it for practically nothing. I already have an offer that is less than $20.

Nothing about firearms collecting is ever likely to get any easier and with the steady attack on our firearms freedoms by the press, libs in general and TV, movies etc.....its only a matter of time until those of us who recognize 'liberties teeth' as what they are will be extinct.
Nice US&S there...I always wanted one back in my heyday of 1911 collecting.
