My 1917 Luger with matching clip, I would like your opinions on this one. I paid 1400. U.S. Dollars for this luger, to much or right on, I would like your opinions. Also the barrow is replaced with a police barrow. Thanks in advance. Ralph

Are there any markings on the front grip strap? Your 1917 DWM has had a sear safety installed, and was used as a police pistol.Comment

Your Luger started out as a Artillery Luger (LP08) And then converted for police use as Johnny stated. " changed barrel and safety sear added" Probably in the early to mid 30's? Some collectors view these as non original but others look for them to collect. So they do have their place in collections.
I have one very similar to yours. 1917 LP08 converted with sear.
As far as price maybe a little much. But the bright side is these Luger's never go down in price. So eventfully the prices catch up.

I just looked back on your 1911 Luger holster post. Ironically the 1917 I mentioned came with a 1911 holster.
But just wanted to point out that holster is not correct for a Police Luger. You need a Police holster with the upward closer strap. Do a little research on Luger Police holsters. preferably made after 1930 to 1940.
