    mp44 opinions?

I am posting these pictures up for a friend who has just bought this old spec deactivated MP44 and would like to find out more about it.

Really just any information about whether this one was used post-war and if so, who by? Also there is a strange marking on the right hand side (pictured) of the receiver. Finally whether the wooden buttstock is original WW2 or not - it is the type with no small 'trap door'. Thank you

    Greetings!

You have an excellent Sturmgewehr MP 44 made by Erma.

A mark that is similar to the letter M - it the stamp manufacturer Merz-Werke, one of the subcontractors.

    Sometimes it looks like that.

Merz-Werke also duplicated his identification mark on the receiver - COS.

Buttstock - the post-war German Democratic Republic, the Warsaw Pact.
By the way - not common for today. This is a one part of global history of SturmGewehr 44...
