sweet looking lufty K98 - beautiful with great clear stamps - one of the best I have seen!!
With over 12 million made just 70-80 years ago it can be hard to understand why examples this nice are so hard....really almost impossible to find now, but they are!
I would not want to have to replace it with a 1:1 example as it may take 10 years and and a lot of money.
Excuse me, but why is a pre-war rifle issued with a laminate stock? All the pre-war rifles I have seen have solid walnut stock.
They were developed and saw limited introduction in 1937. They show up much more during 1938, becomming the norm for most makers during that year (1938) . This rifle was made during the last weeks of 1938...making it very expected for a laminated stock with this maker.
