Enfield made 1914 Short Magazine Lee Enfield Rifle (SMLE)
These early dates are hard to find, It would have been originally issued with volley sights on the left hand side of the woodwork.
This rifle having served during ww1 with the Royal Warwickshire Regiment as be seen on the brass disc, it was refitted with in 1927.
Another interesting feature about this rifle is the fact it served again in ww2. Somebody has scratched some details into the woodwork F. E. A / 43 Leaving a date of 1943! I know for sure this example came from Italy from storage since 1945 so the date matches as well.
