    Minen Marker Flags - Original?

Perhaps I should post these on the "flags" forum but I figured you firearms guys might know better. I know like everything else, these too have been faked. Anyone know if these are real and also what would a fair price be for one?

Sorry about the bad pics but they are all I have gotten so far.

    Thanks

Hi John, I recall that a great many of these flags hit the market once the "wall" came down in 1989. I have no reason to believe that these are fake. These flags were also intended to be used to mark ground contaminated by poison gas. (Thankfully they were never used for that purpose.) Most of these flags were mint/unissued and were complete in the leather holster/container.

      Cheers, Ade.

        Hi
No problem about your noticed differences! There are a lot of variations on all the flags component's; the coulor tone in the flag the way the scull look even the pole is different made. They are comming as Adrian say's in a carrier containing the flags and a yellow marker band. The first carrier's was probably made of real leather but very quick when the war started artificial leather (pressstof) was taken into service. The last execution was made of webbing. The price for a flag could be $10 can't say? Bill Shea have a set for sale as far I remember without the yellow band??

          Hi John,
I also believe these to be genuine! They have been floating around shows in my area for some time now. I think they can still be had for around $15.00 a pair! I don't think you could reproduce them for that price, which should be a good sign also! Jeff
