I know there are plenty of wannabe MG42's around but do these look ok for original ww2 finish? I'm getting one example if matching serial if they are original. Thanks.

look fine to me, but post war used in Yugoslavia, as they have Yugo butt stocks fitted to them, so there may also be some more post war yugo parts fitted to them

original ww2 finish is difficult to say.
i think the most was burnished from the yugos.
however thats nice original mg42 with yugo butt stocks.
i want to see more nice pics from these mg42!!!

          Hallo

Original MG42's do not have a number on the top cover, and are wrapped with 5 wires instead of 6.

Here is mine (wich i think is original)

can you make pics from the buffer?i want to know is it a ww2 or yugo buffer?markings?
when its a ww2 buffer so i think the inner section from the butt stock is ww2 too!

Didn't know about the five-six wire variation.

                            Thanks,

                            Pit.
