I recently obtained this rifle from the vet's grandson. The rifle is .22 cal(I think), has no magazine or clip well, adjustable sights, and no safety. It is marked on the top "Walther" in the typical banner. Behind that "Waffenfabrik Walther Zella Mehlis (Thur)". On the left side it shows two symbols I can't identify followed by "Nitro". I also shows a serial number. On the right side I see the capitol letters N B U" with the same symbols interspersed. The wood stock is good quality, has nice checkerboard work in the grip area. It is marker "Walther" on the butt plate. My best guess is a prewar (since I don't see any Nazi proof stamps) civilian rifle. I seek input of exactly what it is and it's value. thanks Rich
