    MG15 and drum mag question

Hello all, I will do my best to describe my problem so here goes. I have a MG15 dummy gun and recently picked up a dual drum mag for it. However, it doesn't fit the gun. Seems like the bottom of the dual drum mag is about 1/8 inch longer than the area in the gun where it sits. Is this something in the dual mag( maybe for a different gun of this type) or could it be that the receiver is an aftermarket that did take into account for the drum mag. It does have some german eagle and maker stamps on the front area of the receiver so don't know if I should really do any modifying to the receiver to get the mag to fit.

Thanks in advance for any ideas to solve this

German MG15 drum mags are made to fit german made MG15 machineguns. If your mag doesn't fit in your dummy receiver it is not a problem of the mag, so you better modify the dummy receiver A couple of pics could confirm.

thanks for the quick response! I should have took some pics and posted them when I first posted. In regards to the gun, I'm not that familiar with these and would hate to grind off any metal from a possibly good or valuable receiver part.
So....here are some pics of the area in question...please let me know if I should take any other pics of the gun..

      thanks again

Well, I wouldn't modify an original mag but rather the dummy receiver. I guess that is the problem.

thanks for the input on this....so do you think this a dummy receiver with some german stampings on the front? I guess that is what threw me a little.

They might have cast a model out of an original receiver to make the dummy. Perhaps they might have used original parts to make it, I don't know, but what is disturbing the mag in the receiver is not original for sure. Try to get some pics of an original MG15 and compare.
