Gebirgsjager Officer's Weapon

Anyone recognize the weapon carried by the Gebirgsjager Officer on the right, as you can see the front sight is in the up position.

I agree and maybe another one shouldered by the soldier second from the left?

They can be seen carried by a good number of Germans during the war and a number of accounts (by Germans) mention the popularity of these with the Germans.
