My New ZF 4 with equipment

Hello,

i aquired this nice and matching ZF 4 this Weekend. It`s my first with complete straps, rubber eye protector and sun shield. Please note that the former owner (Leutnant der Infanterie) glued the rubber and the sun shield together. I was quite happy about this piece

You should study the set-up further. In fact the sun shade goes on the front end of the scope to avoid sun reflections in the lenses (giving away position), and keeping raindrops of the lenses. The eye protector gives the shooter correct distance to the scope and eliminates disturbances. Your eye protector was sometime mounted wrongly, and has probably "fusioned" to the metal due to old age. If you mount it with rubber facing rearwards the distance from eye to lense will become too long, and mounted at the front doesn't make sense......

tanks for the comments. I realized at home, when i looked closer at the sscope that the rubber was mounted wrong.But i thing i`ll change it to correct mountings. But this was first time since i'm collecting that i recieved a ZF4 with near the whole equipment.

The story about this piece is short:

the former owner died during this summer and now the family wanted to sell his house and gave me call . Withe the scope came also a Luftwaffe wrist compass, a numbered badge für "jagdaufseher", and some Dias"Für Deutschlands Freiheit".
But the family knew that they had a "sniper scope", but the price was normaly fair.
