Not sure how it was presented, but the stock is of course not right. Appears to be a Steyr stock from the shape of the inlet for the bolt ball, and then the faked WaA135.... cupped buttplates also began in '41. Maybe a restored sporter? Trig guard looks pretty shiny. Just IMO...Comment

Good point as the bolt has been heated and bent in a jig block so it must have been in a sporter stock , and then dropped into this beater stock...Also is a reblue, and would make a good shooter , if you tied it to a tire first and set it off with a string to be sure the head space is correct...likely it may be, but it could use a better stock as it has started to crack the wood behind the trigger guard, and the safety lug in the stock may be compromised or missing. You may want to check that, and start looking for a better stock to drop it into some time if you plan to shoot it regularly. I have seen a few online for sale, but not sure if they are the correct one for the gun without checking. Now if you wanted an opinion for what to pay, or for what,I have no idea, as you left that part out, and so we can only guess. If regarding value I wouldn't pay more than around 275. max for this shooter, if they want more tell em that's all its worth to you, and walk away , but give em your phone# first , and tell em if they change their mind and will take that to call you. But I would save my pasedas for a good one that is not a reblued hunter /sporter, restocked into a military piece of worthless wood. Just my opinion, so , do as you please, as personally this is something that would have to be real cheap, and for someone who is looking on it as a first one, just to shoot only as the collector value has basicly been destroyed .Last edited by juoneen; 07-06-2013, 06:12 PM.Comment
