It's too small to be any kind of effective suppressor for 9mm. It appears to be someones crude attempt at a heavy target barrel. It's rifled to the muzzle and looks to be a one piece steel construction.

The Army acceptance markings would appear to take it out of the prototype category. The silencers of the day were large cumbersome affairs, and the heavy barrel is not a suppressor.

The heavy barrel is not a silencer, but one is slid the end, but reading it appears they were never supplied?

Where does this information come from? Is the prototype in the Hallock/van de Kant Mauser book, or the Pistole Parabellum by Gortz/Sturgess? There must be pictures if you know how the silencer went on.

If the stubby muzzle end were meant to be a silencer attachment..there is no way to fix it on there. This short barrel end is smooth.

A silencer for a 9mm round would be quite long/heavy and the barrel shroud on the pistol would add un necessary weight to one..the whole thing is a rediculous setup for silencing. It makes no sense.

After taking a close look somebody has really monkeyed with this pistol. The grips are ground down on the edges front and back, it's been sand blasted and left with little finish, the sideplate is not original to the pistol and looks like it was salvaged from a U-boot. On top of the fat barrel are lines for antireflection? That's not normal on a German pistol. The whole thing looks like someone was bored at Bubba's machine shop.

If this monstrosity is what the seller claims it is and can prove it I would be glad to hear all about it from an unenpeachable source. Even if it were..it's still a hunk O Junk. OH! I forgot..Dewatted too..
