    Questions on a 1915 Luger

The following pistol recently sold on Gunbroker within the past month, I had a few questions about it:
    1) Are the S/42 grips with the additonal S marking armorers replacement grips?
    2) There is a double stamping on the sideplate, double marked 57, what is the deal with the double stamps?
    3) Was the selling price a fair value for the pistol, considering two mags, a loading tool, and the 1939 dated Police Holster?
    Here's the gunbroker link:

Thanks for your opinions in advance. Chris....

    Chris,

1915 artillery Luger that was taken out of storage and converted for police use in the mid to late 30"s.

Armorers replacement barrel, grips, rear toggle pin and a sear safety added.

Don't know about the side plate double stamp? Maybe the first stamp was weak so a second one was added.

Considering the condition I think It's a fair price.

I agree with the information as to what the gun is. I'd say the buyer got a very good price as the holster, extra mag and tool would cost at least $400 from anyone who knew what they had....the S/42 grips would cost at least $200 if bought alone. The Luger is a legit police rework with matching mag not a bad deal at $600-$700 for the pistol alone. That is pricing from 15-20 years ago.
