walther p38 ac 44 with a cyq Barrel

Whatz up guys,
I recently purchased a P38 ac 44 pistol. NLS serial #. This pistol has three matching numbers. ( on slide, frame and on bottom block under barrel.) This pistol has a cyq barrel on it. It has an 88 waffenamt stamp on left side. on the right side there is a Bh. There is no other numbers on this barrel. The majority of Walter p38 ac44 have an additional serial number under barrel. There is nothing on this one. The gun is in great condition, smooth action doesn't jam. This gun has all the other correct 359 waffenamt and nazi stamps. no import or rc marks.

Was this the original barrel that came on this gun in January of 1944?

You ac 44 should have a Walther barrel numbered to you pistol. The original barrel was swapped out and a cyq barrel installed. The cyq barrel should also have a serial number on it. Probably ground off when replaced.

The barrel could also be an armorer's replacement which would have come unnumbered. Spreewerk did make a lot of those from what we have seen.
