Curious - do you ever run a few rounds through these kind of things . . . or are they mostly "safe-queens" for you . . . ?? I have never had the heart to run a few through the barrel on something like this - that is reserved for the FEG "clones" - but I bet it would be a blast!

I fire all of mine... Just a few rounds a year, but they all see range time. Honestly I see nothing wrong with it so long as they are in the condition to be fired safely without any risk to the shooter or the firearm, and I too consider them historically significant. These are firearms after all, and they were made for one purpose

While it is true that they were originally made to be shot, their historical and monetary value today far exceeds their value a shooter.Comment

I don't routinely shoot the really nice specimens I have either. I use utility grade Lugers, P38s and PP/PPKs as well as other models for that purpose. I don't want to take the chance of damaging anything. However; Everyone of them have at least been test fired so I can honestly tell someone the pistol is in shootable condition.

With the exception of a couple of presentation pistols that have never been fired, and some guns way too rare and expensive to ever risk, I shoot mine. My EDC is a Gestapo PPK. I drive my old cars, too.
