    The Black Hole

Would someone please explain to me what Craig Gottlieb is trying to accomplish here? Attempting to peer down a rifle barrel with the action closed? It is difficult enough, based upon my experience, to determine anything with the action open without the use of a bore light.

Maybe he's sniffing for cold-blue , he's an expert you know - so he has his methods. Lets see if he can work the trigger with his big toe

Who looks down the barrel of a weapon with a closed action???? Who? Did he even clear it first???... even then, keep the action open... OMG for safety sake?? Ugh... Expert... NOT!

In his defense, we dont know the context of the photo, probably the photographer just asked him to do that. He is a pretty smart guy, give him a break.

He could be looking to see if the barrel is bent... I had a Garand once that I think was run over by a jeep and had a slight bend. It should 7" off to the left with sights drifted fully...

But both eyes look closed anyway, so if we are going off the picture...

If we are having fun, maybe he had a hangfire and he is checking to see if he bullet is still in the chamber.

My intent in starting this thread was to have some lighthearted fun with C Gottlieb who is doing something NOT recommended by anyone familiar with firearms. For all I know he could have done this as a joke as part of Pawn Stars.

No "smart guy" would ever look down the barrel of a gun with a closed action! even to pose for a photo! Many dead men have though!

Silly wabbits. I'm preparing to demonstrate the ancient and secret method of removing a hang-fire using the sucking method.
