Using 100 year old magazines at the range when good repro ones that work just fine for that purpose are available makes no sense to me at all.
Yes, some of these forums can get 'snobby'.....
Take the good with the bad.

I rarely fire the "good ones" anymore.

Guys, So you know, I respect those that decide not to shoot 100 year old mags and 100 year old guns. I understand the point that why would anyone fire a gun that old or use a mag that old when you can buy a new 9mm Beretta for half the money and shoot that. I understand but do not agree and I have what I think are good reasons. Its probably a good debate to have... when something is considered to old or rare to use. To me, I love seeing old Steam Engines running, Old Cars driving, Old guns Shooting and Old planes flying. However this is not the Original posters question and I feel bad that this thread got hi jacked by some comment I made really only in passing. Can we please try and get back to the original question about:

Matching Service for Luger Side Plates and Magazines
Since the most common mismatching parts on the Luger are the side plates and magazines, I wonder if the Forum could pin a thread on those needing certain numbers. I know magazines are far more difficult to match, with lettered numbers and certain makers for certain arms, but it may be possible.

While perusing this thread in search of a source of original Luger magazines, I noticed a typically infantile exchange initiated by a member of the Luger Forum Gestapo. The high esteem in which I hold this forum, particularly for its academic value, has gained considerably when I read that the character in question was expelled years ago.

Id anyone interested in establishing an orphaned Luger or P.36 mag database on this forum? I have a list of wants as well as mags to trade.
