Who makes a good reference book for U.S. M1 Carbines. I remember seeing a book by Mcellan?

Larry Ruth has two books out on the M1 Carbine, and I understand there may be a third book out now. His books are very comprehensive, but it takes a little use to figure out how his information is presented.
