    Luger Magazines

I purchased a .30mm luger....Will regular luger magazines work with this caliber or do I have to buy .30mm mags????
Although I'm an Ol' Soldier (75) and have a collection of M1 Carbines, M1 Garands, 1911's and many others, this is my first luger....What recommendations do you have for me to learn more about this wonderful handgun???What is the best books to buy or sites to visit, besides this one....
Any help will be appreciated .....
    Have a Great Day!!!!!!!!

.30 Luger and 9MM use the same magazine. There is no difference.

The original designation was 7.65mm Parabellum, or Luger as it was more commonly known, but it was Americanized to 30 Luger.

If any of you have been following the case of Oscar Pistorius (the so-called "Blade Runner", i.e. the South African spriter charged with the 2/14/13 murder of his girlfriend), you may have noticed some of the news articles about the firearms he owned and the pistol he used in the shooting. I found the news reports to be very interesting in that the media reported the caliber of the pistol at issue as "9mm Parabellum".

This use of the term "Parabellum" really caught my eye: I have never seen this term used in modern times, outside the close circles of very knowledgeable "Luger" pistol collectors. Does the "Parabellum" name, coined by DWM some 100+ years ago to market its new self-loading pistol, remain in active use around the World (outside of the U.S.)?

aLAN, iT'S MY UNDERSTANDING THAT the Luger is unknown by that name in many parts of the World..rather P-08 or "Parabellum" as you say is common.
