Any idea what the Japanese characters on the wooden bolt/rod guide represent? The characters appear to be hand-painted in white paint.
I'm not sure if the cleaning rod section is Japanese or may be U.S. issue. Also, I assume that the T-14 cleaning rod goes with the T-14 pistol and holster the vet sent back with the rest of his large grouping of relics (everything was boxed up in a wooden crate that had originally contained 2.75" HE rockets for the "Bazooka" launcher).Attached Files

Another nice Squad Leader's Cleaning Kit. The cleaning rod section appears to be correct (one of four) for the Type 99 rifle. The other component is not a Type-14 Automatic Pistol cleaning rod. Rather it is the correct Chamber Cleaning Tool for this kit. It does slightly resemble the Type-94 cleaning rod however.
Sorry, I'm of no help whatsoever with the kanji on the Bore Cleaning Guide although I have seen other examples with similar markings.
Hope this helps .......
