    WW1 Lewis Gun

    I don't think I've shown this before...if I have, my apologies.

This is a 1917 manufacture .303 Lewis (UK made) gun. I believe there are about ten in NZ NOT owned by Sir Peter Jackson. He brought the whole bloody country's supply for his replica WW1 airforce. The prices have climbed hugely as a consequence.

Yes, it's a nightmare to strip, but a wonderfully engineered gun.

Very nice. I have never gotten to shoot one. I would very much like to one day.

It must suck Jackson is buying everything up but I might do the same if I was in his position.

He's mainly a WW1 collector. I don't begrudge him. It's raised the value of my gun!
He's talking about a film on Gallipoli at some stage after finishing the ridiculous Hobbit series.....and after the Dambusters film....which is still 'alive' as far as I know.
