    MG42 Dummy Gun

Just finished up building one of my "dummy guns", most of the parts are Yugo, but there are some German parts present including a nicely marked, DF code for 1944 production, AR - Mauser Borsigwalde rear receiver piece. Rails have metal blocking bars welded in internally, barrel is plug welded and then welded permanently into place. Makes a great display piece. I have always appreciated the simplicity of the design and just the appearance of the weapon. Although I wouldn't have wanted to have carried one in combat. The weight alone of 11.6 kg without the weight of the ammo load would be bad enough! Chris.....
