    US metal belt links cal. .30

    Hello,

    I bought these boxes of metal belt links some time ago.

    Not sure about the production era though, so my question is:

    are those WWII produced belt links ? Indicated is .30 not 30-06 caliber.
    Could they have been produced for earlier B-17 or B-24 MGs before those were equipped with .50 machine-guns ?

    Or are they simply post-war !?

    I never found .30 belt links in the forests, no ground dug specimen from the Battle of The Bulge a.s.o.
    So I have really no evidence for their use in WWII.

        They are most likely WWII issue but belts were the most common way of feeding the M1919 during WWII.

        Links began to gain more use towards the end of the war.
