    K98 sniper opinions please

    Hi everyone


    At a local auction, this k98 came up. It is descriped as a rare example and in prestine condition all over. numebers matching. original sling and rod etc. If You have the time
    to look at this, I would be happy. I do think of making a bid or 2.

      its rare all right, so rare its a one of a kind, because its fake. and i would say thats far from pristine....

      i guess id take the sling

              Fake

              What the others said. Fake mount(corners are wrong), Russian Capture Stock, Long Key Safety for Long Side Rail not Short Side Rail, Checkered Butt Plate does not belong on Short Side Rail and probably repro, Scope patina does not match rest of rifle, Mount screws were hacked off when installing locking screws instead of done correctly, and that is just for starters. Not even close. Keep looking.

                thanks for info. yes it is a jungle for that matter. I have informed the auction house about this as i is sad to see someone getting ripped off in clear daylight.
