    Bill,

Regarding your pair of FN 1922 pistols, they look nice. I'm suspected to give any opinion as I'm a major fan of these pistols and always stated here in the forum that they still are underrated as collector's items.

You have a late "b" block pistol fitted with black plastic grips. Although not impossible (Germans were using every spare part at hand), a so late produced pistol is more often seen with wood grips.

Amen to that thought Douglas. But don't anyone count on this being the situation for much longer.

        Sabotaged FN 1922 ?

This is one of my FN 1922s. When I bought this it worked mechanically; however when I tried to fire a round, nothing happened. After a little troubleshooting I found that the striker spring had been cut down, just enough that the striker would put an indentation in the round's primer but not enough to fire the round. I have read that some of these pistols were sabotaged at the FN factory in Liege during WWll, perhaps this is an example. In the photo is the shortened spring next to one that works.

These FN 1922 Pistols are one of my favorite.. They were one of the first pistols that I saw as a very young gun enthusiast..
