Vet bringback Russian Rifle Korea or Vietnam??

    Hello forum...

I found this at a yard sale about two weeks ago.

It's a 1944 dated Russian rifle with a capture tag?

I don't see any import marks on the gun. The seller said it was given to them by a neighbor who was a medic in Vietnam. But... the tag/form says it was printed in 1951?

did guys in Korea bring this type of stuff back?

I know Russian rifles are fairly worthless.... but... for $100 bucks took a chance. Robert

            Rifle

The first clue for me is the zip code on the package. Zip codes did not exist during the Korean War.

I have a Vietnam brought back French rifle with the capture papers taped to the stock almost identically. Very nice rig!

it's a model 1944 mosin nagant with the folding bayonet, the last iteration of the popular Soviet rifle. they do sell for around $100 at your local big 5 sporting goods, but this one has history and i would say is worth much more... congrats

It has the DD603 form attached which was used during the Vietnam War as a certificate for the retention of enemy weapons as a war trophy. Very nice piece with lots of history. I wish it could talk!
